Island Happenings October-November-December 2008 : The entire family competed in the Columbus Day Run. Here are our results for 6.52 miles or a quarter marathon: Mary - Female Teen division - 2nd place - 1 hour 18 minutes 56 seconds Barb - Female Masters division - 1st place - 1 hour 3 minutes 17 seconds Lizzie - Female Youth division - 6th - 1 hour 58 minutes 35 seconds - she walked it with Dad Dave - Male Masters division - 1 hour 58 minutes 38 seconds - he walked it with Liz

Packy on Kwaj : Well Packy is here visiting...and he and Barb have not killed each other yet! OK...Packy has a horseshoe up his bum! We go fishing. We just get out of the pass, oceanside, put our lines in and I am not kidding, in less than 10 minutes we hooked a 157 lb black marlin.....unbelievable!

Underwater Easter Egg Hunt -- Kwajalein March 2008 : The scuba club here on Kwaj holds a annual Underwater Easter Egg Hunt. They place eggs in the roped in area of Emon beach and then the kids snorkel their hearts out to gather as many as possible.

Trip to Roi-Namur June 30, 2007 : We went up to Roi for one night with the girls. Since we flew standby, the girls and I flew up on one flight and Dave came up on the next (we can't complain though as the price is right ....FREE!) It was really cool to see the atoll from the air and it makes you realize how remote you actually are in the Marshall Islands. Mary did not appreciate small aircraft travel but Liz and I thought it was great and it actually was a beautiful flight.

Rusty Family Triathalon -- Kwajalein -- May 14, 2007 : On May 14, 2007, we competed in the 28th Annual Rusty Family Triathalon. Dave and Liz swam 500 yards, Barb and Mary biked 10 miles and all four of us ran the 2 mile run....and we didn't even come in last!
